Inflation dips by 0.95%
On the week ending Aug 15, 2009, the wholesale price index stood at 238.8 points with a decrease of 0.95% over the same week of previous year. However, an increase of 0.59% has been witnessed over the previous week (Aug 08, 2009).
Among the textile commodities under review, other miscellaneous textiles, Cotton knitted garments, manmade textiles and woolen textiles remained same as they were on last week by 3.16%, 4%, 5.38% and 2.62% respectively over the same day of previous year.
Cotton textiles saw a decrease of 0.06% over the same day of previous year. Jute and other textiles prices came down to Rs. 270 by 23.30%, over the same day of previous year.
