Inflation dips by 1.37%
On the week ending Aug 9, 2009, the wholesale price index stood at 237.4 points with a decrease of 1.37% over the same week of previous year. However, a marginal increase of 0.08% has been witnessed over the previous week (Aug 01, 2009).
Among the textile commodities under review, other miscellaneous textiles and Cotton knitted garments remained same as they were on last week by 3.16% and 4% over the same day of previous year.
Cotton textiles saw a little increase of 0.34% over the same day of previous year. Jute and other textiles prices came down to Rs. 276 by 27.08%, over the same day of previous year. Manmade textiles and Woolen textiles witnessed a decrease of 5.38% and 2.62% over the previous year.
